ENSEMBLE PROGRAM

The Ensemble Program is a weekly arts enrichment program that transforms young lives through instruction in music theory, instrument technique, private, and ensemble classes. Students at every experience level learn how to play their choice of violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano, or classical guitar.

Program includes:

  • Music Theory/Sightreading (30 minutes)

  • Ensemble Practice (60 minutes)

  • Private Lesson (30 minutes)

26 Weeks: $2258

13 Weeks: $1129

Private Lessons for the Ensemble Program are available In-Person and Virtually.

Lessons will be offered on Saturdays around class times if space allows on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In-Person Lessons available Monday-Friday from

3-7pm, and Sunday 11-4pm. 

Virtual Lessons available Monday-Friday from

10-7pm, Saturday 9-5pm, and Sunday 10-4pm.

Private Lessons are available for children and adults. Instruction is catered to each student's individuality, which allows for maximum attention and progress.

This is an interactive general music class, where children and their care-givers will explore music as a language, rhythm, singing, and kinetic exercises.

Explore the cool and tech-savvy world of "disc jockeying." DJ Trauma will take students through a variety of scratching techniques; the history and entrepreneurial aspects of DJing.

Learn how to create your own melodies in this group class, while applying music theory fundamentals on the making of your own music.

COMPOSITION

Chamber music is an integral part in music advancement. This group consists of advanced high school musicians immersing themselves into the world of chamber music. The skills developed during this course include teamwork, self confidence, and self worth, allowing students to develop a skill that goes far beyond playing a musical instrument. Students will work in-depth on specific repertoire and have the opportunity to perform multiple times a year.

Audition Required.

CHAMBER STUDIES

This small chamber ensemble consisting of our most advanced strings students performs a wide variety of music including classical, gospel and pop, at various events around the city.  

 

Auditions for the NPF Players are happening on September 9th and 10th, 2023 and January 20th, 2024. Auditions can also be offered full year on a case by case basis. 

Requirements:

-Play 2 scales

-Sight reading

-Play solo piece of choice

PAYMENT PLANS & POLICIES

2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR PAYMENT INFO

There is a mandatory $300 deposit at time of registration for full-year and 13-week Ensemble Programs.
$300 Deposit request for Solo Programs will be sent after lesson days and times have been confirmed.
Full payment due upon registration for all Music Enrichment Electives
For virtual classes, links will NOT be provided until deposit is paid.

2024 Fall semester 13-week program payment due in full NO LATER than October 12th.
Payment is due in full for 26-week programs and 2024 Spring semester NO LATER than February 15th, 2025.



PLAN #1

2 Equal Installments + $300 deposit (26 Week Program)
Due date for 1st installment payment: October 12, 2024
Due date for 2nd installment payment: February 15, 2025



PLAN #2

5 Equal Installments + $300 deposit + $40 installment fee (26 Week Program ONLY)

Due date for 1st installment payment: October 12, 2024
Due date for 2nd installment payment: November 9, 2024
Due date for 3rd installment payment: December 14, 2024

Due date for 4th installment payment: January 11, 2025

Due date for 5th installment payment: February 15, 2025

 

Prorating Programs

Any student who begins their instruction after the official start date until October 14th for the fall semester and February 11th for the spring semester will have their fees prorated, however,

the DEPOSIT IS STILL DUE UPON REGISTRATION. 

Full payment for prorated programs will be due AT TIME OF BOOKING for any 13 week course booked after October 14th and February 10th for the Fall and Spring semesters respectively. 

Half of tuition will be due AT TIME OF BOOKING after October 14th for any 26 week courses.

Late Payment Fee

Tuition payments for the entire year are DUE BY February 10, 2024. The fee for returned checks is $35.00.

NPF reserves the right to discontinue the enrollment of any student who does not comply with its payment policies.  

 

ATTENDANCE/MAKE UP

If the student is unable to attend a lesson, NPF must be notified 24 hours in advance. Missed lessons due to the teacher's absence will be made up. Only one excused absence, for which the teacher or NPF has been notified 24 hours in advance, is allowed per semester and will be made up by the teacher during appointed make-up week. An unexcused absence is one in which NPF has not been given 24 hours' notice and will therefore not be made up. If a student is absent for three consecutive weeks, the student may be dismissed from NPF.

 

CLASS CANCELLATIONS

NPF reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment.  In such cases, all unused tuition fees will be refunded.  If NPF cancels a lesson or class due to a teacher's absence or bad weather, the class will be rescheduled or a credit will be given at the discretion of NPF.

 

PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE

By completing your registration form you give your consent for NPF to take photos, audio, or video footage of classes, lessons and/or concerts without advance notice, and to publish such photos, audio recordings and video footage royalty-free in its print, audio and electronic promotional efforts, including the website.

Do you have to own an instrument to attend?

No. Instruments can be rented from NPF! 

 

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Please see below for more information.

How do I pay? 

Payments can be made through your Bookeo account in the Customer Area. 

If you know your balance or are paying for supplies, you can pay directly at https://paypal.me/noelpointer
Payments can also be made by calling the NPF office (718-230-4825), or in person with cash, card, or check during our office hours. Checks should be made payable to Noel Poin
ter Foundation.

The fee for returned checks is $35.  

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Financial assistance is need based on a first-come-first-served basis, and is only given for full enrollment (26 weeks) for the Ensemble Program, and the full 5 weeks for the Summer Program. Financial assistance is NOT AVAILABLE for the Solo Program (Private Lessons).  

 

Families that receive aid are required to volunteer 20 hours per year (2 field trips for Summer Strings). Students must attend all NPF classes and events.  If these requirements are not met, assistance will be revoked.  Families must reapply for financial assistance each year.

  • 1040 Tax forms

  • Evidence of receiving government subsidies

 

IF THESE FORMS ARE NOT SENT, YOUR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Additionally, please note that students must be enrolled in classes and deposit paid BEFORE applying for financial assistance.

When applying for assistance, candidates must fill out and submit the below form and MUST ALSO provide: W-2 forms, 1040 tax forms, and evidence of receiving government subsidies. All documents should be emailed to: finance@noelpointer.org
