The Noel Pointer Foundation Responds to the Coronavirus

In line with New York City’s valiant efforts to ‘flatten the incubation curve’ of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), The Noel Pointer Foundation has temporarily closed our Bedford-Stuyvesant administrative office and is taking full advantage of our existing remote work policies. NPF administrative staff will work remotely during normal program hours to assist parents with enrollment for the Summer Program, scheduling to make up for missed classes, and any other inquiries.

Despite the extreme unrest with which we now live, our goal is to ensure the continuity of private music lessons to the best of our ability. We are currently continuing to offer private lessons and group classes online via video conference through the end of the semester.

We understand that not everyone will be able to take a video lesson. As of now, our policy, for private lesson students only, is that we will offer make-up lessons at a later date. These make-up lessons are a special accommodation for COVID-19 impacted private lessons and are ONLY for students unable to take their lessons via video conference. Summer make-up lessons will be on a flexible schedule, based on student and faculty availability, and because many of our faculty members are away over the summer, lessons may be with a different faculty member. This policy is subject to change, depending on our ongoing response to COVID-19.

These measures are in effect and will continue until further notice. NPF will do its best to communicate critical information in a timely way to our community.

Please check for NPF emails, our social media platforms, and our website for COVID-19 related updates.
