EMPOWERING CHILDREN ONE NOTE AT A TIME

The Noel Pointer Foundation Responds to the Coronavirus

We are excited to announce that NPF will resume in-person classes starting September 19, 2020, while virtual classes and lessons will still be available.

This is what we are doing to ensure a safe re-opening of our space:

  • Deep professional cleaning of our offices and classrooms

  • Equipping every classroom with hand sanitizer, disinfecting aerosols and wipes

  • Marking common areas with clear signage to remind everyone of COVID prevention protocols

As part of our new rules and protocols, we will be:

  • Taking temperature of everyone entering our space, including administrative staff, teaching artists, students and parents

  • Setting a Welcome Table where students will be checking in and short COVID related questions will be asked

  • Limiting access to our space for everyone, but students and teaching artists.  A small seating area will be available on our outside hallway

  • Reducing space use to 50% capacity

  • Limiting group class size to up to 6 students

  • Placing students' seats 6 feet apart

  • Sanitizing classrooms, chairs and instruments after every class

  • Keeping windows open and AC on to increase airflow

The safety of our students and staff is a priority for us.  We are doing everything in our power to continue serving our community in a safe and effective manner.

Please check for NPF emails, our social media platforms, and our website for COVID-19 related updates.

NOTABLE NEWS

It's Our 25th Anniversary!

Updated copy.jpg

A lot has changed in 25 years. The Noel Pointer Foundation began in 1995 with a mission to put stringed instruments in as many young hands as possible, regardless of their skin color or zip code. From teaching just 4 cellists and 14 violinists out of Brooklyn’s Marcus Garvey Elementary School, we’ve grown to serve 2,500 young people annually. As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary of providing string music education programs, we are excited to launch a challenge.

~ $25 for 25 Years ~

Please join the celebration by donating as little as $25 – A dollar for each year that NPF has been changing lives. With your support, we will honor our past while laying the foundation for the next 25 years to come!  Enjoy NPF’s 25 Years in Music!
